Montenegro labor groups schedule new collective agreement talks

A new round of negotiations regarding the General Collective Agreement (OKU) is scheduled for Thursday, involving representatives from the Government, trade unions, and employers. The discussions focus on increasing the calculation value of the coefficient, a key mechanism for protecting employee rights that has been expired since April 30.

Vladimir Pavićević, an Executive Board member of the Union of Free Trade Unions of Montenegro (USSCG), indicated a potential agreement involving a five percent increase in the coefficient value starting in September or October, with an additional increase following the New Year. The unions have previously sought to raise the value from 90 to 100.

Failure to reach an agreement could lead to a general strike. Both the USSCG and the Federation of Unions of Montenegro (SSCG) have urged the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Dialogue to finalize the new agreement promptly to avoid further delays.
