Montenegro launches direct Madrid‑Tivat flight

Montenegro's airport authority inaugurated its 23rd new route, a direct MadridTivat service operated by Iberia, carrying 180 passengers on the opening flight. The flight will run twice weekly on Saturdays and Tuesdays until mid‑September. Airport executives Roko Tolić and Stefan Madžgalj highlighted the route as a step toward expanding the country's air network and improving airport management. Tourism minister Simonida Kordić noted a 22.3% rise in Spanish visitors in the first five months of 2026, forecasting further growth from the new connection. The Spanish embassy also praised the route as a boost to bilateral economic ties.

The service joins existing links from Tivat to Barcelona (Vueling) and Podgorica to Wizz Air, and aims to increase tourist flow and improve travel comfort for Montenegrin passengers.
