Montenegro manages wildfires as Bosnia and Herzegovina funds women in security

In Montenegro, government officials Aleksa Bečić, Danilo Šaranović, and Miodrag Bešović visited active wildfire sites in the Herceg Novi municipality. They met with the crisis staff in Bijela to assess the situation and spoke with firefighters, including a group from Trebinje that arrived to provide regional assistance. Bečić noted that while high temperatures and shifting winds present ongoing challenges, the situation is currently under control. He emphasized that all available state resources, including six active aircraft, are being deployed to manage the fire season.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, a partnership agreement was signed in Sarajevo to support women in military and police forces. The project, titled ‘Women Lead on the Path of Peace and Security in BiH’, has allocated 270,000 KM to improve working conditions. This includes 135,000 KM for the Border Police to purchase assembly containers and 135,000 KM for the Ministry of Defense to modernize kitchen and dining facilities at the Travnik location. Officials stated that providing dignified working conditions is essential for gender equality and the professionalization of security institutions.
