Montenegro commemorates 150‑year Vučji Dol and 230‑year Martinići battle anniversaries

Montenegro marked the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Vučji Dol and the 230th anniversary of the Martinići battle with official wreath‑laying ceremonies. President Jakov Milatović placed a wreath at Vučji Dol in the presence of Defence Minister Dragan Krapović and Chief of the General Staff Miodrag Vuksanović, while Minister Krapović and the General Staff chief performed a similar ceremony for the Martinići commemoration. Historian Miloš Vukanović highlighted the Vučji Dol victory as a pivotal moment that forged the foundations of modern Montenegro, emphasizing its strategic and cultural significance. Politicians such as Ivanović also attended the Martinići ceremony, underscoring the battles’ lasting symbolism of freedom and national unity.
