Montenegro Minister calls for development of northern region
Damjan Ćulafić, the Minister of Ecology, Sustainable Development, and Development of the North, emphasized the need to affirm the economic and natural potential of northern Montenegro. Speaking at the ‘Dani žetve’ (Harvest Days) event in the village of Polica near Berane, Ćulafić stated that the government's goal is to transform these regional assets into sustainable opportunities for local citizens to develop businesses and secure their futures.
Addressing long-standing water supply issues in Polica, the Minister noted that progress has been made through institutional cooperation between the Municipality of Berane, the Polica Local Community, and the Institute of Hydrometeorology and Seismology. He acknowledged that administrative procedures and property-legal issues had previously hindered progress but expressed confidence in resolving remaining challenges.
Ćulafić also highlighted that Berane is a focus for infrastructure and capital development, noting that the state budget includes multi-million euro projects, some of which have already been successfully implemented.
