Montenegro opposition calls for continuation of ‘Black Triads’ parliamentary inquiry

Opposition members of Montenegro’s Democratic Party, the Europe Now Movement (PES) and the Socialist People's Party (SNP) held a joint press conference in the parliament urging the continuation of the parliamentary inquiry commission investigating the so‑called “Black Triads.” The commission examines political killings and attacks on journalists and intellectuals that have occurred over the past two decades.

PES MP Nađa Laković warned that the commission faces obstruction and said its work must not be hindered by political calculations, stressing that “truth and justice are above any politics.” SNP MP Bogdan Božović added that if the ruling Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) does not nominate a member to the commission, the opposition parties are ready to do so, emphasizing the inquiry’s public‑interest status and the moral duty to provide answers to the families of victims.
