Montenegro Parliament schedules two extraordinary sessions for August 24

The Parliament of Montenegro has scheduled two extraordinary sessions for August 24. One session was requested by the Government of Montenegro, while the second was requested by members of Parliament.

A primary focus of the legislative agenda is a proposed law on the seizure of assets acquired through criminal activity, aimed at combating organized crime and illicit wealth.

Other significant legislative items include proposals regarding budget and fiscal responsibility, personal data protection, and amendments to the criminal procedure code. The sessions will also address laws concerning the protection of foreigners, waste and water management, and the provision of safe drinking water for human consumption. Additionally, lawmakers will consider amendments related to the state prosecution service and judicial salaries.
