Montenegro police seize dozens of firearms and ammunition in crackdown
Police forces in Montenegro carried out coordinated raids in several towns, including Berane, Plav, Bijelo Polje and Rožaje. The operations resulted in the seizure of over a dozen pistols, an automatic rifle, two hunting rifles, multiple gas pistols, a hand‑held stun bomb and a total of more than 630 rounds of ammunition.
Two individuals were taken into custody, while criminal complaints were filed against eight others for illegal possession of weapons and explosives. The seized weapons will be subject to administrative proceedings that could lead to permanent confiscation. The police said the actions are part of an intensified effort to combat cross‑border crime and enhance security along the state border.
