Montenegro: President commemorates historical battle and diaspora importance

Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović attended a ceremony marking the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Trijepče. During the event, he emphasized that remembering historical victories is a duty to protect the state, strengthen institutions, and foster national unity. He noted that the battle, fought in September 1876, was a defense of Montenegro's freedom and future.

Separately, the Alliance of Montenegrin Patriots in Germany announced it will celebrate its third anniversary on October 10. The organization highlighted the importance of the Montenegrin diaspora as a social, cultural, and economic asset. The group plans to focus on connecting emigrants with their homeland through cultural programs, language education for youth, and professional networking to support national development.
