Montenegro reports 14,218 children unvaccinated against MMR
Data from the Institute of Public Health (IJZ) in Montenegro indicates that 14,218 children born between 2021 and 2024 have not yet received the MMR vaccine.
Health authorities are implementing catch-up immunization programs to address these missed doses in accordance with age recommendations and vaccination schedules. The IJZ stated that they are working in continuous communication with the Ministry of Health to address challenges such as vaccine availability, monitoring vaccination points, and increasing overall coverage.
Under regulations updated in September, preschool institutions allow children who are vaccinated or those with justified medical reasons for not being vaccinated to attend. Authorities have agreed to intensify catch-up activities and continuously monitor vaccine stocks and consumption to ensure timely measures are taken.
