Montenegro reports record 279 MMR vaccine doses in one day

The Institute of Public Health of Montenegro (IJZCG) reported a record 279 doses of the MMR vaccine administered in a single day on Friday, August 28. During the preceding week, the institute noted a high response rate, averaging over 200 doses daily.

Of the doses administered on August 28, 251 were first doses (MMR1) and 28 were subsequent doses (MMR2). For the month of August 2026, a total of 2,104 MMR doses have been applied, consisting of 1,839 first doses and 265 subsequent doses.

The IJZCG has urged parents who have not yet vaccinated their children to do so promptly to prevent the spread of measles. The call for timely vaccination follows measles outbreaks in Bulgaria and Kosovo, as well as a recently confirmed case in Serbia.
