Serbian Prime Minister in technical mandate Đuro Macut has been denied overflight permission through Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) airspace. The denial follows a request from the Serbian Embassy that arrived at the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs at 15:05, five minutes after Macut was scheduled to depart from Belgrade at 15:00. Protocol requires such requests to be submitted at least 72 hours in advance.

Macut, who intended to attend the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom, and the National Flag in Banja Luka, stated he will travel by car instead. He described the administrative measure as “regrettable” and argued that such actions hinder regional cooperation.

Milorad Dodik, leader of the SNSD, criticized the decision as “political madness” and an unconstitutional move that excludes the Serbian people. Meanwhile, BiH Foreign Minister Elmedin Konaković emphasized that Serbia must respect the laws and regulations of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In Republika Srpska, traffic restrictions are also in effect for the Day of Serbian Unity. Certain heavy vehicles exceeding 7.5 tons are prohibited on several major routes, and specific restrictions apply within the city of Banja Luka to accommodate the festivities.
