Montenegro sees rise in childhood MMR vaccinations

Montenegro is seeing a significant increase in childhood immunization rates, particularly for the MMR vaccine, following the implementation of a law requiring vaccinated children to attend public and private kindergartens.

In Podgorica, health officials reported 691 MMR doses administered in the last seven days. Pediatrician Saida Zejnilović addressed rumors regarding vaccine expiration, stating that claims of vaccines being near their end-of-life date are untrue and that all doses are safe. To accommodate the surge, additional vaccination points and weekend clinics have been established in Podgorica.

In Berane, the Dr. Nika Labović Health Center reported 96 MMR doses administered during August, with a notable increase in interest immediately preceding the new school year. Medical professionals in both regions have emphasized that vaccine supplies are sufficient and have encouraged parents to complete immunizations to ensure compliance with national health laws.
