Montenegro Supreme Court President visits Kotor Basic Court

Valentina Pavličić, President of the Supreme Court of Montenegro, conducted a working visit to the Basic Court in Kotor to review operational results, organization, and current challenges. During the visit, court officials reported that 9,557 cases were processed during the current year.

Key discussions focused on improving judicial efficiency, strengthening public trust, and resolving long-standing cases. President Pavličić emphasized the importance of unifying criminal policy through recently issued guidelines to ensure consistent judicial practice.

Court President Srđan Klikovac noted that while no criminal cases have reached the statute of limitations, judges face significant workloads regarding domestic violence cases and complex civil disputes involving property rights. Pavličić also encouraged judges to utilize an electronic judicial practice system based on artificial intelligence (AI) and pledged support for better cooperation with state organs and judicial experts.
