Montenegro and Croatia implement fiscal reforms and infrastructure projects

In Montenegro, the government has adopted a public finance management reform program for 2027–2031, which includes the development of the ‘Budžet za građane’ (Budget for Citizens) platform. This digital service aims to increase transparency by allowing citizens to track tax revenues, expenditures, and public investments in an accessible format.

Simultaneously, the Red Cross of Montenegro has issued a warning regarding the uncertain future of its ‘Home Help’ service. Due to changes in the Law on Social and Child Protection, funding is shifting from the state budget to local governments, potentially impacting 1,340 elderly and disabled users.

In Croatia, the government has approved several environmental and infrastructure projects. The Environmental Protection Fund will fund the removal of improperly disposed waste in Samobor via a 2.4 million euro contract. Additionally, the government approved the construction of a water supply and sewage system for the Vir agglomeration, valued at 213.93 million euros. The Plitvice Lakes National Park will also undergo reconstruction of the Vučnica bistro, with an investment exceeding 2 million euros.
