Montenegro to introduce visa requirements for Turkish citizens
Montenegro will implement a new visa requirement for citizens of Turkey, Russia, and Belarus effective November 1, 2026. This policy change aims to align Montenegro’s visa regulations with European Union standards as part of its accession process.
Until October 31, 2026, holders of ordinary (maroon) passports from Turkey can enter Montenegro without a visa for up to 90 days. After this date, visa applications will be mandatory for tourism, business, or educational purposes.
The shift is expected to impact various activities, including real estate investments and company formations, which have seen significant interest from Turkish citizens. While ordinary passport holders face new restrictions, holders of special (green) and service (grey) passports will maintain their current exemptions.
