Montenegro upgrades NS eID system for electronic identification

The Ministry of Public Administration, in collaboration with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, has upgraded the NS eID system for electronic identification and user authentication. This enhancement aims to provide citizens with faster and more efficient access to electronic services using electronic ID cards.

By implementing new functionalities via the X Road platform, the system now allows for the automated retrieval of data from the Central Population Register. This automation simplifies the registration process for user accounts and electronic ID cards, eliminating the need for manual data entry for citizens with activated electronic ID cards.

In addition to electronic ID cards, citizens can now register and use electronic certificates from Montenegro Post on the NS eID system. This update is expected to be particularly beneficial for approximately 3,000 university students participating in the Professional Training Program, facilitating their registration process.
