Montenegro wins 34th World Big Game in Drifting Championship
The 34th World Big Game in Drifting Championship concluded in Ancona, Italy, with Montenegro claiming the world title. The competition, held in the Adriatic Sea, featured 96 athletes from 20 crews representing 12 nations.
Weather conditions played a significant role in the event. Rough sea conditions forced organizers to cancel scheduled competitions from September 10 to 12. Consequently, the jury declared the Wednesday, September 9 session and the final Sunday, September 13 session as the official results for the ranking.
Italy secured second place through the ‘Italia B’ crew, captained by Luca Miserocchi and including Fabrizio Fabbri, Riccardo Biondini, and Gabriele Varella. Croatia finished in third place. The event emphasized environmental sustainability by utilizing a ‘Catch & Release’ protocol, ensuring all caught fish were measured and immediately released alive.
The championship was organized by the Club Amici del Mare ASD in collaboration with FIPSAS and FIPS-M.
