Montenegro Youth Teams Shine at International Swimming and Handball Events

Montenegrin junior swimmers delivered a strong performance at the COMEN Cup in Futog, Serbia, setting three new cadet national records. Katarina Đurašković posted 2:46.21 in the 200 m breaststroke, Uroš Simović broke records with 24.83 in the 50 m freestyle and 55.43 in the 100 m freestyle, and Tara Petrović achieved personal bests in three freestyle events, helping the team secure eighth place overall and a final spot.

At the same time, Montenegro’s junior women’s handball squad launched its World Championship campaign in China, opening with a match against Iceland. Coach Igor Marković emphasized the team’s ambition to reach the quarter‑finals, citing recent successes such as a sixth‑place finish at the European Championships and the inclusion of three cadet medalists among the 18‑player roster.
