Montenegro's Cybersecurity Agency launches first oversight cycle
The Montenegrin Cybersecurity Agency announced the start of its first expert monitoring cycle on the implementation of information‑security measures across key and important sectors. The agency sent an initial questionnaire to designated entities to assess current compliance, management of cyber risks, and awareness of legal obligations.
Early responses show higher compliance among key subjects than important ones, but also reveal weaknesses in system organization, responsibility allocation, employee management and awareness. The agency stressed that these findings are based on self‑assessment and that final verification will come from detailed inspections slated to continue through 2026. Coordination with the Ministry of Public Administration and international partners will include workshops and training for the monitored entities.
