Montenegro's Jovan Janković Wins Bronze at International Physics Olympiad in Colombia
Jovan Janković, a student at Gimnazija “Slobodan Škerović” in Podgorica, earned a bronze medal at the 56th International Physics Olympiad (IPhO 2026) held from 4 to 12 July in Bucaramanga, Colombia. About 400 top secondary‑school students from more than 90 countries competed. Montenegro’s team also included Andreja Popović, Vanja Lazarević, Jovan Aranđelović and Milo Popović, under the guidance of Prof. Dr Predrag Miranović and Mr. Stevan Đurđević of the University of Montenegro’s Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation highlighted the achievement as a testament to Montenegro’s talented youth and the importance of sustained support for mentors and young scientists, stating, “We congratulate Jovan Janković on his bronze medal and commend the entire Montenegrin team for representing our country with distinction.”
