Montenegro's Zdenka Popović Resigns, Valentina Minić Named New MP

Zdenka Popović, long‑time vice‑president of Montenegro’s Parliament and senior member of the Democratic Party (Demokrate), announced she will resign from her parliamentary seat in line with a pre‑agreed rotation policy. The party’s main board confirmed that Valentina Minić will take over the vacant MP mandate, citing continuity of responsible politics and adherence to party agreements.

The Democrats also put forward Anđela Vojinović as their candidate for the parliamentary vice‑presidency. Popović indicated that she intends to continue her career in diplomacy, with a posting under consideration in Slovenia, although the exact role remains unspecified. The party praised Popović’s contributions to parliamentary work, fiscal responsibility and Montenegro’s international standing, highlighting her role in hosting the Women’s Political Leaders Summit.
