An American tourist was reportedly assaulted during a local festival in Monteodorisio, Italy. The incident occurred during the Madonna delle Grazie celebrations last Sunday.

According to the victim's cousin, the man was socializing with locals when a man began acting with hostility and struck him, resulting in a black eye. The victim, who speaks English and Spanish but limited Italian, did not file a formal complaint. The Mayor of Monteodorisio, Catia Di Fabio, has urged any witnesses to report the incident to the Carabinieri, stating that social media posts are not a substitute for official reports.
