Montería police launch protection plans for children and adolescents

The National Police, through the Child and Adolescent Protection Group of the San Jerónimo Metropolitan Police in Montería, has implemented ‘Planes Arcos’ in public spaces across the southern part of the city. These operations aim to strengthen preventive actions and ensure the comprehensive protection of children and adolescents.

During these activities, officers conducted person searches and background checks using PDA devices to prevent crimes and behaviors that threaten the well-being of minors. Authorities also promoted emergency contact lines, including the National Police (123), the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare (141), and the PAÍS 4 Case Attention Patrol.

Major Johnneyth Lora Salgado, head of the Protection and Special Services Section, stated that these plans are part of a preventive strategy to protect the integrity of minors and emphasized that child protection is a shared responsibility between families, institutions, and citizens.
