Monterey County community events scheduled for September

Several community events are scheduled in South Monterey County. In Greenfield, a special appreciation breakfast for first responders will be held on Friday, Sept. 11, at Greenfield Memorial Hall to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

In Gonzales, the Live Well Project is hosting a Community Garden Cleanup Day on Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Gonzales Community Garden. The event is a partnership involving the City of Gonzales, the Resource Conservation District of Monterey County, Save the Whales, and Salinas Valley Health.

Additionally, Wreaths Across America will host an information and donation booth in King City on Saturday, Sept. 12, at the King City Center. Sponsored by the Southern Monterey County Republican Women Federated, the booth will facilitate donations for veteran grave wreaths at a cost of $17 each.
