Lanús Government Launches Renovation of José Hernández Plaza

The municipality of Lanús has begun a comprehensive refurbishment of José Hernández Plaza in the Remedios de Escalada district. The work includes demolition, soil movement, new paving, accessibility ramps, upgraded electrical installations, painting and finishing works. New features will comprise pedestrian pathways, additional greenery, concrete benches, modern lighting, an amphitheater, restoration of the José Hernández monument and a new sports‑and‑recreation area. The project is part of the broader Corredor Lugones urban regeneration plan, which also involves the construction of new mini‑plazas at nearby intersections and the upcoming third stage of the Aerobic Trail linking the eastern and western parts of the city.
