Monterotondo cancels nursery tender; Cavallino‑Treporti adds August opening

The Monterotondo municipal council withdrew the public tender for the concession of the "Il nido di Gaia" nursery after a request from CGIL union representatives. The union highlighted a cut of more than 4,200 staff hours compared with historic levels and warned of risks to contractual and wage conditions. The council approved a resolution to halt the tender and pledged to secure the necessary resources for the service.

In Cavallino‑Treporti, the local administration began a programme to keep the "Il Girotondo" municipal nursery open in August 2027. The plan responds to family demand and will increase enrolments by 26 children, bringing total attendance to 49. Officials confirmed that current staffing levels are adequate and that public funds are available to support the extended calendar, aiming to provide continuous education for children without waiting lists.
