Monterotondo completes first phase of strategic transport hub

The Municipality of Monterotondo has announced the completion of the first phase of a new strategic interchange hub in via della Fonte. The project, managed by the Department of Public Works, aims to revitalize an area previously characterized by road degradation and unregulated parking.

The intervention, carried out by Edil Scavi S. r. l., included the construction of a new Cotral bus terminus and a raised pedestrian crossing at a cost of approximately 169,708 euros. The new layout features three functional lanes: a central lane with a bus station capable of accommodating three buses simultaneously, equipped with raised sidewalks and shelters; an outer lane with dedicated parking for residents, students, and users of nearby schools and sports facilities; and an inner lane reserved for local residents.

This infrastructure project is intended to improve road safety, mobility, and local livability by resolving historical issues related to the previous bus terminus and its interference with the weekly market.
