Monterrey celebrates 50 years of its Municipal Palace

The city of Monterrey celebrated the 50th anniversary of its Municipal Palace, a building described as a central site for the city's political and urban development. The commemorative event was led by Mayor Adrián de la Garza and attended by various local and federal officials.

During the ceremony, Mayor De la Garza emphasized that the building is more than just part of the urban landscape, noting that it has served as the setting for critical decisions and projects throughout five decades of the city's growth. The program included a video featuring architect Juan Villarreal, who designed the building, and remarks from chronicler Leopoldo Espinosa regarding the city's 430-year history.

The festivities included musical performances by the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Monterrey Higher School of Music and Dance, as well as a huapango concert and the singing of the 'Corrido de Monterrey'.
