Monterrey launches health campaign as Torreón clears abandoned vehicles

The Monterrey government has launched a breast cancer prevention campaign titled ‘Somos una señal en tu camino, auto explórate’. The initiative uses pink-painted garbage trucks to spread awareness about early detection throughout the city.

Mayor Adrián de la Garza and DIF Monterrey President Gaby Oyervides led the launch. In collaboration with Red Ambiental, the campaign includes the donation of 260 studies, such as mammographies and densitometries, as well as five breast prostheses to support women undergoing treatment or reconstruction.

In a separate municipal operation, authorities in Torreón have removed more than 500 abandoned vehicles from public streets. The cleaning and order operation, managed by the Inspection and Verification Directorate, involves notifying owners to remove vehicles within 24 hours to 3 days. Failure to comply results in towing and municipal fines of approximately 3,000 pesos, plus storage fees.
