Monterrey Metro marks 35 years with commemorative postage stamp launch

Governor Samuel García Sepúlveda of Nuevo León officially cancelled a commemorative postage stamp to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Monterrey Metro (Metrorrey) Line 1. The ceremony, held at the state Palacio de Gobierno, was attended by officials from Metrorrey, the Mexican Postal Service (Correos de México) and state mobility authorities.

García highlighted the system’s historic role in regional mobility and reaffirmed the administration’s plan to double service coverage by constructing new Lines 4 and 6. Secretary of Mobility Hernán Villarreal Rodríguez and Postal Service director Violeta Abreu González praised the stamp as a lasting record of the metro’s development and its social impact on millions of daily users.
