Monterrey journalists struck by SUV during live broadcast
A reporter and cameraman from Gamavisión were struck by an out-of-control SUV during a live television broadcast in Monterrey, Mexico. The incident occurred on Morones Prieto Avenue while the crew was reporting on road hazards, including landslides and fallen trees caused by heavy rainfall.
During the segment, a dark-colored Jeep Patriot lost traction on the wet pavement and slid into the news team. The impact was captured on camera, causing the live feed to cut abruptly. Emergency responders, including Civil Protection and Red Cross personnel, arrived at the scene to provide first aid.
Both Alma de la Rosa Flores and cameraman Cristo Morales were transported to a local hospital. While the reporter suffered multiple contusions, the cameraman reportedly sustained some fractures. Both were reported to be in stable condition following medical evaluation. A 19-year-old driver was detained by authorities in connection with the accident.
