Monterrey woman dragged 30 meters by driver after traffic dispute
A traffic dispute on Avenida Fidel Velázquez and Bernardo Reyes in Monterrey, Nuevo León, escalated when a driver of a silver Nissan Sentra accelerated and dragged a woman for about 30 meters. The woman, identified as Abyeni Judith Ortiz Maya, was around 50 years old and had stepped out of her vehicle to confront the driver over a presumed collision. Video footage shows the driver accelerating while the woman was pulled along the road before falling onto the asphalt.
Bystanders intervened, called an ambulance, and provided first aid. Ortiz Maya suffered bruises to her body and head but did not require hospitalisation. Local traffic authorities have opened an investigation and are searching for the driver, whose vehicle bore the license plate SPZ‑585‑A.
