Montesilvano senior university marks 20th academic year

The Università Popolare della Terza Età in Montesilvano has inaugurated its 20th academic year with a ceremony held at the Municipal Council Hall. The event featured a special philatelic cancellation from Poste Italiane and a concert titled “Melodies of Peace, Love, and Joy in the World.”

The concert was performed by the Melos Clarinet Ensemble from the State Conservatory of Music in Teramo, conducted by Maestro Federico Paci. During the proceedings, Alba Cappellacci recited original poems in dialect, paying tribute to Mother Teresa of Calcutta as well as Filomena Delli Castelli and Emidio Agostinone, two prominent figures in Abruzzo's civil and political history.

Montesilvano Mayor Ottavio De Martinis emphasized the importance of memory, civil engagement, and social inclusion. Giuseppe Tini, president of the university, noted that the milestone celebrates the institution's role as a center for continuous education and active citizenship.
