Monteviasco cable car station burglarized

Thieves broke into the Ponte di Piero station of the Monteviasco cable car between Sunday, August 30, and Monday, August 31. The perpetrators forced open a door to access the facility, ransacking the premises in search of cash.

The stolen amount is estimated to be just under one thousand euros, representing the station's current takings. The manager of ATM, the facility operator, discovered the theft on Monday morning.

Carabinieri from the Dumenza station have launched an investigation to reconstruct the events. The incident occurred on the same day the cable car began a scheduled maintenance closure, which is expected to last until September 29. During this period, Monteviasco remains accessible via a mule track that was recently reopened following repairs by Civil Protection.
