Montevideo approves incentive retirement plan for Casino Parque Hotel staff
The Montevideo Departmental Board has approved an incentive retirement plan for budgeted employees of the Parque Hotel Casino. This decision follows the casino's closure and its transfer from the Intendencia de Montevideo to the General Directorate of Casinos under the Ministry of Economy and Finance on August 21.
The plan is designed to address financial deficits associated with the venue, which previously reported losses of 83 million pesos. Mayor Mario Bergara has stated a goal to eliminate the municipal deficit linked to the casino by the end of 2027.
Under the approved terms, the retirement incentive is independent of specific job classifications and does not require meeting standard retirement age or contribution requirements. Employees up to 59 years of age will receive compensation equivalent to 22 nominal benefits, while a different calculation will apply to those over 60.
