Montevideo municipal services and data management updates

The Intendencia de Montevideo has announced modifications to municipal services during the upcoming holiday. Public transportation will operate on special schedules, with STM service centers at Tres Cruces and Nuevocentro remaining open from 11:15 to 17:45. Waste collection will follow a special regime, while ecocenters will be closed. Municipal offices for tax, commercial, and vehicle management will not provide service. However, parking in paid zones will be free during the holiday. Regarding public spaces, the Botanical Garden and Punta Espinillo Park will be open from 08:00 to 18:00, while museums and certain parks will remain closed. The Mercado Agrícola de Montevideo will operate normally from 09:00 to 22:00.

In a separate administrative development, the Intendencia de Montevideo has established a permanent structure to strengthen public data management through its Data Committee. This initiative aims to consolidate data management as an institutional capability with defined roles, ensuring that technical expertise and data accuracy are not dependent on specific individuals. The committee, which includes Mayor Mario Bergara, will hold quarterly meetings and organize into six thematic tables covering areas such as data visualization and team training. This structure builds upon existing projects involving open data portals and the integration of artificial intelligence in urban mobility and management.
