Montgomery County Approves Bridge Replacements and Job‑Creation Zoning Initiative
The Montgomery County Board of Supervisors approved construction plans for three bridge projects: a culvert replacement on 165th Street north of 170th Street, a new Grant Bridge on 5th Street over the West Nodaway River, and a replacement bridge on 210th Street west of Boxelder Avenue. The board also adopted a resolution designating physical and internet locations for posting public meeting notices and tentative agendas, as required by Iowa Code.
Separately, the Montgomery County Council unanimously passed a zoning amendment (ZTA 26‑05) to create an expedited review process for developments that will generate at least 200 net new jobs. Introduced by Council President Natali Fani‑González, the measure targets projects in strategic sectors such as bio‑health and advanced technology and aims to reduce regulatory delays, encouraging major employers to locate in the county.
