Montijo traffic disrupted by water supply works

Water supply network reinforcement works in Montijo will cause significant traffic disruptions from August 18 to September 10, 2026. Heavy vehicle circulation is prohibited on Rua José Joaquim Marques during specific hours, and several streets, including Rua Miguel Pais, Rua Tenente Valadim, and Rua Conde Paço Vieira, will be closed to traffic.

Public transportation will also be affected. Bus passenger pick-up and drop-off services, typically located at the bus station in Praça Gomes Freire de Andrade, will be relocated to Avenida Doutor Paulino Gomes near the Montijo Court from August 18 until September 11. Local authorities advise residents and visitors to plan trips in advance and follow temporary signage.
