Montilla named Spanish City of Wine for 2027

The Spanish City of Wine for 2027 has been awarded to Montilla, located in the Córdoba countryside of Andalusia. The selection was made by the Board of Directors of the Spanish Association of Wine Cities (ACEVIN) to promote national wine culture.

Montilla is part of the Montilla-Moriles Wine Route and is noted for its tradition of producing fortified wines, primarily using the Pedro Ximénez grape variety. This designation follows previous recipients such as Cambados in 2024 and Requena in 2026.

In related regional developments, the XXVIII Moriles Wine Tasting (Expo Wine Moriles) will take place from October 23 to 25. Organized by the Moriles City Council and the Association of Moriles Wineries, this year's event will feature guest wineries from outside the municipality, including Bodegas Arrabal Rodríguez from Montilla-Moriles and Bodegas EMENDIS from the Penedès region, to foster professional connections and commercial opportunities.
