Montilla named Spanish Wine City 2027

The municipality of Montilla, located in Córdoba, has been named the ‘Spanish Wine City 2027’ by the Association of Spanish Wine Cities (ACEVIN). This designation aims to promote wine culture and enotourism throughout Spain.

To qualify for the title, municipalities must be part of the ‘Wine Routes of Spain’ product club, which includes 38 itineraries. Montilla is represented via the Montilla-Moriles wine route. The initiative follows models used in Portugal and Italy, both members of the European Network of Wine Cities (RECEVIN).

The national selection process is held annually, though it is suspended during years when Spain hosts the European Wine City title to prevent domestic competition for the same honor.
