Montilla named Spanish Wine City for 2027 as new routes join national network
Montilla has been named the Spanish Wine City for 2027. Located in the heart of Andalusia within the Cordoba countryside, the town is renowned for its viticultural tradition, particularly its production of Pedro Ximénez wines.
In a separate development for Spanish enotourism, the Condado de Huelva Wine Route and León have been officially integrated into the Rutas del Vino de España network following certification by ACEVIN. This expansion brings the total number of destinations in the network to 40, encompassing over 800 municipalities and approximately 2,600 tourism-related companies.
The Rutas del Vino de España brand serves as a major national reference for wine tourism, attracting more than three million visitors annually. The inclusion of the Huelva route provides the region with access to a large-scale promotional showcase that connects heritage, gastronomy, and landscape through specialized vineyard and winery experiences.
