Montopoli in Val d'Arno inaugurates Battle of San Romano reproductions

Life-size reproductions of Paolo Uccello’s ‘Battle of San Romanotriptych have been inaugurated in Montopoli in Val d’Arno. The panels are installed on a wall in via San Giovanni at the entrance to the historic center.

The project was realized by the Pro Loco association of Montopoli in Val d’Arno in collaboration with the local municipality. The initiative aims to honor the historical event and provide a way for locals and students to view the three scenes together, as the original paintings are currently housed in three different international museums: the National Gallery in London, the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, and the Louvre in Paris.

To complete the project, the organizers obtained authorization from all three museums and followed the guidelines set by the Superintendency. Each reproduction includes captions in both Italian and English.
