Montopoli opens historic pedestrian route as Foggia resumes long‑delayed pool construction

The town of Montopoli in Tuscany inaugurated a historic pedestrian corridor along Via Sottofossi Est. The project, costing €2.166 million, was financed by PNRR funds, regional allocations and a municipal loan. Mayor Linda Vanni, regional president Eugenio Giani and assessor Alessandra Nardini attended the ceremony, highlighting the route’s role in preserving the historic centre, improving safety and preventing hydro‑geological risks.

In Foggia, work has restarted on the open‑air swimming pool on Via Mazzei, a facility planned in the late 1980s but left unfinished for more than three decades. After several funding attempts, a €2 million loan from the Sport Missione Comune programme secured financing. The project overcame a lengthy administrative dispute and recent technical setbacks, and the renewed construction aims to finally deliver the long‑awaited public amenity.
