Montpellier Administrative Tribunal to rule on Rémi Gaillard election appeal

A public rapporteur has recommended the rejection of an appeal filed by Rémi Gaillard seeking to annul the municipal election results in Montpellier. The Montpellier Administrative Tribunal is scheduled to deliver its final decision on October 13.

Gaillard, who ran with the ‘Yes We Clown’ list, received 8.21% of the vote in the first round, falling short of the 10% threshold required to proceed to the second round. His appeal is based on alleged irregularities regarding the distribution of campaign literature. Gaillard claims that hundreds of voters did not receive his campaign documents, following a previous dispute where his materials were initially invalidated due to colors deemed too similar to the French national flag.
