Montpellier Rugby prepares for Toulouse clash and coaching transition

Montpellier Hérault Rugby (MHR) is preparing for a high-stakes Top 14 match against Stade Toulousain at Ernest-Wallon. MHR manager Joan Caudullo acknowledged the difficulty of facing Toulouse, describing them as “unplayable” when performing at their peak. To bolster their squad, Montpellier relies on six players previously trained by Toulouse, including Yacouba Camara and Dimitri Delibes, aiming to utilize their technical expertise against their former club.

In coaching news, Montpellier has reached an agreement to allow coach Geoffrey Doumayrou to join the French national team (XV de France) as their new defense coach. Under the agreement approved by club president Mohed Altrad, Doumayrou will serve the national team during international windows while maintaining his coaching position at Montpellier. His commitment to the French side is expected to run through the 2028 Six Nations tournament.
