Montpellier to host 2027 ITTF Singles World Cup

Montpellier will host the 2027 ITTF Singles World Cup at the Sud de France Arena from March 29 to April 4. In a historic first for France, the men’s and women’s competitions will be held together in the country.

The tournament will feature 48 male and 48 female players. The competition format begins with a group stage followed by a single-elimination bracket, with final matches played as a best-of-seven series. Competitors will vie for the Evans Cup in the men’s category and the Hammarlund Cup in the women’s category. Qualification will be determined through continental championships, world rankings, and potential wild cards for the host nation.

This event marks the 44th edition of the men’s World Cup and the 27th edition of the women’s. While France has hosted the men’s event several times previously, this will be the first time the women’s individual World Cup is organized in the country. Local stars Félix and Alexis Lebrun are expected to compete in their home city.
