Montréal Metropolitan Airport terminal drives economic growth

The Montréal Metropolitan Airport (MET) reports significant success following the June 15 opening of its new terminal in Saint-Hubert. Interim President Simon-Pierre Diamond stated that the facility has already seen over 200,000 passengers in its first three months of operation.

Economic studies suggest that reaching one million passengers could generate approximately $500 million in economic benefits, primarily for the South Shore region. Operational metrics indicate high performance, with the terminal ranking first among 56 Porter Airlines stations globally for service quality and baggage handling speed. Additionally, the airport reports strong punctuality, with flights delayed by more than 30 minutes occurring in less than 20% of cases.

A survey conducted by Pallas Data between July 24 and 26 involving 604 local adults indicates that a majority of citizens believe aircraft noise levels have remained stable or improved since the new terminal opened.
