Montreal Canadiens linked to NHL trade rumors for Tippett and Byfield

The Montreal Canadiens are the subject of various NHL trade speculations as the team seeks to bolster its roster. One proposal suggests the Canadiens target Philadelphia Flyers forward Owen Tippett. Potential assets to facilitate such a move could include players like Oliver Kapanen or Alexander Zhoravsky, and potentially a first-round draft pick.

Another trade scenario involves a blockbuster deal with the Los Angeles Kings to acquire center Quinton Byfield. Under this proposed arrangement, Montreal would receive Byfield, who is currently in the third year of a $31.25 million contract, in exchange for prospect Michael Hage, goaltender Sam Montembeault, and a 2027 first-round pick. The move is framed as a way for Montreal to secure a much-needed second-line center.
