Montreal Canadiens loan Vinzenz Rohrer to EV Zug
The Montreal Canadiens have loaned forward Vinzenz Rohrer to EV Zug of the Swiss National League for the 2026-27 season. Rohrer, a 21-year-old forward drafted 75th overall in 2022, remains under contract with the Canadiens organization through the 2027-28 season and can be recalled to North America at any time.
Rohrer previously played for Zurich before signing a three-year entry-level contract with Montreal in June 2025. Following a bidding war in Switzerland, Rohrer signed a deal with EV Zug that reportedly makes him one of the highest-paid players in the league. The move is expected to provide Rohrer with a larger role and more ice time to aid his long-term development compared to playing in Laval.
Regarding the move, Rohrer stated: "I am very excited about my new challenge at EVZ! The role I will be able to take on in Zug is perfect for my athletic and personal development."
